What % of your take home pay do you save? I'll count either saving for retirement or short term savings for things like vacations or consumer items.

Personally I save 50% of my take home pay, but that's exceptional because I live with my parents and I'm on scholarship at school so my expenses are pretty tiny.

I try to save at least 20% of my take home pay every month.

My savings rate since I started working in 2007 is about 27% of take home pay, which I find to be incredibly depressing.

It varies a lot. Expenses like healthcare and auto repairs are not predictable. Now that my car is paid for, I have a little more breathing room. If I can squirrel away 10%, and I'm very fortunate that I usually can, I feel pretty good about myself. Notd to the young folks, this gets extremely difficult once you leave your parents' basement. Stay down there as long as possible.

Oh, around zero these days. At one time, it was over 50%, say 55%, with taxes about 25%, and consumption expenditures about 20% of gross income. During that era I paid off mortgages mostly with the savings.

Oh nothing of course.  How could one save money?  If my income were doubled I could.

I actually got an email yesterday from the federal loan people saying that every day I accrue like $9.80ish of interest on my federal loans. So basically negative $10 a day is my savings rate.

Law school is expensive. Sad

I actually don't have much at all from undergrad, only like $15,000, because my parents are poors and my school was generous. But law school tuition and cost of living is ridiculous and you don't get much financial aid.

I think this place is a sign that they're not leaving... I don't have a set amount... but it ends up being around 15%... but depending on expenses it could be 30% or none.
