I would also hazard he benefits greatly from having already served two terms and thus after three, winning a fourth is hardly a worthy of putting the interests of the state second. And surprise, surprise the people actually respected that and his policies have worked, thus earning the next term if he wants it.

This article really sums up what I've grown to love about Brown. He cares about his legacy, not his re-election. California's doing some really cool stuff.

Despite his detractors on both sides, he's ultimately doing what needs to be done and I applaud him for what he's done. He's pulled the state out of the abyss and onto the right track. If anyone can restore the true greatness of California, I think he can do it. It's obvious that he loves California and wants to see it prosper once more. I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't run for reelection.

Too bad he's too old otherwise he would be on a short list of presidential candidates.

When you're older and you're not worried about reelection or climbing the political ladder, you tend to worry more about doing the right thing, not the popular thing. We could learn a lot from Jerry Brown's one term wonder.

Four-term wonder, as it turns out.
