I'd like to start the Election night on Thursday, because after the next weekend, I'll be very busy. If I could start on Wednesday, that'd be great!

Thank you for your interest in the game... And don't forget that I give some extra points for those who post first.

If you haven't read it, I will release polls for 10 states, and each of you can choose 5. Or better, the first one to choose can choose 6, so 11 will be released Smiley

Schedule for Blanche Lincoln

October 30, 2000

Speech in Roseville, Newark, New Jersey (With Cory Booker, Sharpe James, Mildred Crump, Augusto Amador)

I know the hour is late, that our campaign appears to be turning into a pumpkin, but what we need to do is be clear, that even if Vice-President Quayle wins now, we need to show we are able to beat him in four years. We need to show that even if we fall this election, we will recover.

Rally at Edward A. LeLachuer Park, Lowell, Massachusetts (With John Kerry and Ted Kennedy)

It's been a long campaign for us all, and everyone knows that we've been behind since June, but it's almost over, and win lose or draw, we will walk away with our heads held high, knowing we ran the campaign of a lifetime.

Rally at Hadlock Field, Portland, Maine

If we don't win this year, than mark my words we will take Vice-President Quayle down in 2004! We will return better and stronger no matter how we finish!

October 31, 2000/Halloween

Partake in Holloween Celebrations in Sag Harbor, New York

GOTV at the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, New York

November 1, 2000

Play Eighteen Holes at the Bethpage Black Course, Bethpage State Park, Bethpage, New York (With Bill Clinton, Tiger Woods, Fred Funk)

November 2, 2000

GOTV in Easton, Pennsylvania

GOTV in Warren, Pennsylvania

GOTV in York, Pennsylvania

November 3, 2000

GOTV in Zanesville, Ohio

GOTV in Adamsville, Ohio

November 4, 2000

GOTV in Little Italy, Cleveland, Ohio

GOTV in Midtown, Detroit

GOTV in Washington Heights, Chicago

November 5, 2000

GOTV in Riverdale, Arkansas

GOTV in Wrightsville, Arkansas

GOTV in Cammack Village, Arkansas

November 6, 2000

Visit Troops at Little Rock Air Force Base

Speech at the Jack Stephens Center (on 2004 Re-election plans)

Given the way my approval ratings have cratered in Arkansas, given that we still have the faintest pulse for winning this election.... That leads believe that as of this moment I will not run for re-election in 2004. That being said, this decision is subject to change.

November 7, 2000

Spend day at Second Election Headquarters at Rose Law Firm, Little Rock Arkansas
Write Victory/ Concession Speech

Both Lincoln and Daschle will be giving concession/victory speeches on election night

In the end, Daschle played the defeatist and has not improved a little bit. All Heil to our new Fuhrer Dan Quayle!

I can say there are many toss-up states that could go either way right now. But we are talking about states that were sure bets for one of the parties before the 2000 campaign.

Make your bets if you want to: which states will Quayle and Daschle win? What about Senate annd Gubernatorial races?

We're almost at the finish line, people... And regardless of whether I win this election, or return to the Senate, I know that I'll be fighting for things people generally support: Things like the right for people to choose whether they want to have an abortion, a double mastectomy or a generally invasive prostate exam. The right for two consenting adults to marry who they want, when they want. The right for people to an environment without polluted water, crippling smog, and traffic jams that stretch across state borders, and the right for people to decide that they don't want to allow concealed weapons in their schools, homes and offices, without it being decided for them by groups like the NRA.

Dan Quayle's Schedule:
(October 30th - November 7th) Sad

"And now, the time has come. It has been a rather long journey, a journey of hard work, surprises, redemption and the ultimate example of what you can do in America. It has been a long journey, and I thank General Powell for standing with me in this election, and I thank Tom Daschle and Blanche Lincoln for being good adversaries on the trail. America now faces a clear choice between two men not an echo, a real choice for the next four years. As we face the future and the beginning of the 21st Century, America has to choose wisely, the people  must turn out to vote and give the winner a true mandate to lead the American people into prosperity, and that leader must be able to lead with dignity, honor and strength. I believe I can be the man America needs, and I want to ask, one final time, for your vote in this election. Thank you, god bless you, and god bless the United States of America. "

October 30th - November 6th:
-Final Days on the trail:

-Focus on a mixture of rallies and GOTV events in order to bolster turnout among independents and conservatives (thus negating Daschle's supposedly fired up Liberals). Quayle should spent one day in every state: California, Oregon, Arkansas, Michigan, Wisconsisn, Minnesota, New Jersey, Delaware and Maine. Speeches were as always, with similar themes of leadership, experience, conservative values and innovative solutions.

November 7th:
-The Last Day:

-Acknowledging the status of Pennsylvania as the ultimate toss-up, Quayle will spend the last day here, focusing on GOTV efforts in Eastern Pennsylvania. Once the afternoon arrives, Quayle will fly to Phoenix, AZ, where he will offer a last press conference. Then the massive election night event will start (most major Republican leaders are invited, along with staffers and a big number of volunteers from the campaign). Quayle has prepared a concession speech and a victory speech just in case, but he is more than confident of victory at this stage.

Other:
-Surrogates:

While surrogates haven't played a large role in the Quayle Campaign, the last week will see them in the trail to increase turnout and help the GOP in the Senate and House. From early endorsers like Governor Wilson to former rivals like Senator John McCain, Quayle expects to show a united front and a responsible party ready to take control of Congress and the White House at the same time.

It could be thanks to Quayle's status as a native son, but those coattails in Indiana are amazing! McIntosh loses in a close race instead of going down in a landslide and Lugar is close to 70%. Kentucky seems more similar to OTL, but even with those two states it is still too early to judge what will happen in other states.

I suspect I'll be writing two concession speeches soon... hopefully Hillary '04 goes better.

For the moment, Quayle has only carried states Bush won in real life.

There are 4 states where one of the candidates has won by less than 0.5% of the vote, and in one of them you're exactly tied. I've decided those 4 states can go either way depending on your reactions during the election night.

By that logic, the Lincoln and Daschle Concession/ Victory speeches, originally set, for the closing of polls on the west coast, will be pushed back three hours.

In addition, we will be requesting a recount in Michigan (When polls close and including the Senate race).

Meanwhile, in the Quayle Election Night Party:

A good number of people are now enjoying Quayle's Election Night Party, most of them perpetually looking at the gigant screens with the returns. The mood is rather optimistic, and you can see key Republican figures just as you can see simple volunteers just hanging around and hoping that Quayle is finally elected President of the United States tonight. Since the polls still haven't closed in half the country, there are still many surrogates working the west (specially California), but they should arrive soon. All in all, and despite the possibility of a recount in Connecticut, everybody is quite hopeful about the results. Quayle leads in Connecticut and New Jersey, and he narrowly loses Vermont, with conventional wisdom stating that Daschle needs New England if he wishes to win tonight. The press are also quite active, interviewing as many key figures as they can. So far they already have the comments of James Baker, John McCain, George W. Bush and Former President Bush, all of them stressing their belief in a great Republican victory and in Quayle's abilities to serve as President. So far, Quayle is still watching the results privately with his family and closest advisers.
