I'm going to assume you are talking about the character from Les Miserables... who I suspect would be a member of the Greens or Communists.

Milton Friedman

Probably some low-level New York GOPer whose hopes for higher office are dashed by shady connections. Maybe mayor, one day. Fiscally conservative, too lazy to think of what his social views might be like.

Considering his non-Southern heritage and general populism, I'll say Democrat.

Hmm, how about John Quincy Adams??

I'll guess Republican, of the Santorum kind...because pretty much any non Hamiltonian (sans Thomas Paine and Aaron Burr) would be.

James Blaine.

Given his support for Eisenhower and Nixon, I suspect that he sticks with the Republicans, although it could really go either way.

Despite his moderate/liberal stances on a lot of issues, he endorsed George W. Bush in 2004. I'm not sure if he backed McCain or not, but I think he would've stayed Republican nevertheless, even if he's frustrated with the Tea Party.
