This thread will be unlocked by me at some point after I wake up. If this does not happen for whatever reason, that someone else should establish a Results thread when the polls close.

The usual rules apply: a bit of overt delight or horror at overall or individual results is perfectly acceptable, but try to avoid partisan droning (there are better places for that) or personal attacks.

Those that break these rules will be transported to Botany Bay for ten years.

Oh God, the forum just decided to crash when the first results were coming in. Angry

Anyway, I've been following the ACB live stream since 10 or so. Things looks pretty horrible.

ABC projects a Coalition win. PVO reckons Palmer wins Fairfax. Swan and Bowen holding on for now, Katter's seat is very tight - no, not a typo.

It's looking pretty good. The ABC electorates list is already predicting Braddon (expected) and Page (narrowly Labor in 2010, but in a part of NSW where the swing was expected to be small) as Coalition gains.

Question really is how big the win is for the Coalition.

Not much of a thread to those of our posters who already live there, I think. Maybe we should transport to Vandiemensland instead.

Leichhardt looks nice.

Yeah, I got up to pee 30 minutes ago and the forum was down. Nice that it's up now. Looks like I missed the good stuff, but at least I can go back to bed soon. Tongue

What are the news stories so far? I see the Greens arent projected to win any seats. Who is the  one other?

There's a very nasty 15.4% swing to the Liberals in Lyons, Tasmania, and the ALP is trailing in all seats except Franklin, where they appear to be holding on narrowly with only an 8.2% swing.

What's the best website to go to track results on individual seats?

Four gains already projected:
Bass
Braddon
Corangamite
Page

Also Lyne, but then there was never any doubt there.

I'm on ABC, but you're actually Australian...

Ftr, I'm not Australian.  I just live here.  Tongue

Yeah, I have a million TV channels to choose from to watch coverage.  But what I'm actually looking for is a website that lists all the seats, where I can click on the seat, and see what the tentative results are....so I don't have to wait for them to go through them one by one on TV.  Is there a good site for that?

Hasn't been a great night, but it looks more like 1996 rather than 1975. Looks like I predicted it well.

Katter in huge trouble in Kennedy. Wow.

More interesting is that Leichhardt is looking very tight.

Page is also confirmed Nationals.

I find it fascinating how varied the swings are. You have more marginal seats like Lilley and McMahon holding up but Lyons, Kennedy, and even Jenny Macklin's seat swinging deep blue.

Bruce seems to be rated 'safe LIB gain', but I think that might be a glitch...
