Amendment to the Random Acronym Relating to Council Order

Any Councillor who casts their vote in a language other than English or Spanish must highlight the text. The code will be green for aye, red for nay, and any other color for abstain. If the said councillor does not follow this method, their vote will be considered invalid.

While a majority has not yet voted in either the affirmative or the negative, I will use my power as Speaker to determine that a reasonable length of time has elapsed on the grounds that it is exceedingly unlikely that all three remaining members will vote in the affirmative and declare the vote closed.

With two votes opposed and none in favor, this resolution fails.

Why was I not given time to sponsor this? And how is 45 minutes a reasonable amount of time?

I don't why you guys would oppose this. It is the best possible way for those who wish to remain loony to do so, while those who aren't multilingual can interpret it.

Xahar is no longer a councillor. His vote is invalid. Please cite which law gives you the power to declare the motion failed before a majority is reached.

Gladly:

7. Votes within the Council shall end immediately upon the assent or dissent of a majority of members of the Council or after an appropriate length of time has passed.

Now, if you want to leave Council business to the Speaker, we can proceed. I will point out that three members of the Council other than myself have pointed out their opposition, so this is a pointless fit you're throwing.

The period was too short to be in any way deemed "appropriate". Just look at how few minutes he kept voting open. Not even an hour!

Pursuant to Atlasia v. Xahar, this vote must be reopened by the Speaker.
