Oh, yes indeed.  Migrendel was a very intellegent fellow.  After he IMed me I acctually came to like him personally.  He had the most extreme possitions on the forum, but could probably beat most anyone in an argument, because what he said was so well thought out.  I would like to see John Ford square off against his.  That would be interesting.  I think even Ford would just get discouraged and quit after a while though.

I debated Roe with him to standoff once. That got very tiring.

Migrendel only won because Bono's supporters, and himself, didn't second preference Umengus. Same way IrishDemocrat got elected, in the same cycle, too, none of Phil's voters preferenced Andrew, and he lost by 1. Funny how the right complained at their politics when it's their fault they were in power in the first place.

I remember I worked with him to get the Family Planning Amendments passed, we voted for an environmental bill the rest of the left opposed, but JFK said that was the only way to get it passed. He was a good guy, good Senator, a bit extreme.

However, did anyone see Bono's proposed budget? Those were LARGE cuts.

Well based on the campaign against me, I was clearly the most extreme senator. I'm one of those dirty rioting liberals. Smiley

No, that was the deal for me conceding the race. He said that if I conceded, he'd spare my life and that of my family. Wink

My last statement was a joke, though I can't blame anyone for not being able to tell. Smiley

I wasn't around for him, but Migrendel certainly sounds like a, erm, interesting fellow.

The scary part is that he was not trolling at all.  He would support these positions with well writte, well thought out arguments often several paragraphs long.

Why did he leave? Was he banned?

His last post was October 4th. He just left, maybe was busy for a few weeks and then he forgot, I don't know. It's sad.

I remember I worked with him to get the Family Planning Amendments passed,

*whistles cheerfully*

That might be my best work as Senator, actually, getting half of that atrocity revoked. Grin

I was more concerned about getting A and B through, C and D, as I expressed during the repeal, I had no real attachment to.

Mind you, I think I would've gotten a repeal of C and D no matter what - I took a look at the Senate composition (in the end, I got ALL the left and center votes, and half of the right's {the other half, StatesRights, wnated to scrap the law altogether}) and saw that it was favorable to such an approach. A and B would've been closer, but I had no strong objection to them, so I saw no need to endanger my bill by being extreme. And I got PBrunsel to sign it, so I'd have to say that one worked out pretty well for me. Down with extremism! Up with moderation! Cheesy

{looks at Jake's post which came in while I was writing this} I'll leave that discussion to you two. Wink

Maybe we're being too hard on Migrendel.  After all, post-birth abortion is now legal in the Netherlands.

Let's run off a few other things legal in the Netherlands, but frowned on outside of leftist paradises.  Though I will give the Netherlands credit for having the stones to follow us into Iraq.

Yes, but now they've pulled out and we've sent about 1/3 the amount of troops they had there to do the same job...

Are you referring to euthanasia? Or is there something worse going on there? Huh
