Run-offs: At the moment Senator Birch Bayh [Democratic Alliance-Indiana] (50%) and Fmr. Governor James Terry Sanford (83.3%) [Worker's Party-North Carolina] are leading. Sanford is unlikely to change...but Democratic Alliance sees a dead-heat between Birch Bayh and Former Vice President George McGovern (South Dakota).

New post for final run-off results since the Democratic Alliance could very well have it go to the convention, and the primary results of 1976 will be re-posted for continuity.

EV Maps covering this time period will be posted eventually, but my current focus is '76-'12

I apologize for the sloppiness, but it's hard resurrecting a slumbered Master thread.

For the record, the reason map production ceased several episodes ago was because maps had to be drawn due to the existence of new states. As the father of this series, I'm regarding this as approximations. Also, I would wonder if the political geography is not radically altered by the existence of a completely alternate party system.

Finally caught up with this; I left for my mission right around when Joseph F Smith became VP (1892, I believe?), and now I'm sad that a Mormon never became president.

Quick question: since Obama and Cain were the only candidates running in 2012, how were Indiana and Florida carried by <50% margins?

Otherwise, great job with the maps. They really add a lot to the series!

I figured Obama had the psuedo home-state effect for Indiana again, and Cain managed to get just enough conservative Cuban voters to gain Florida.

Fair enough, but how were those states carried by less than 50% of the vote? You have Obama winning IN with 47.6%; that means at most Cain got 47.5%, leaving 4.9% unaccounted for. Since Obama and Cain were the only candidates running nationally, I wondered who those votes went to.

Bringing this back since technically, there's still one election left to cover.

Unfortunately, the series is in a Jurassic Park esque lul with Obama still getting elected and ensuring Democratic Alliance dominance in the WH for 16 years. In short 2012 may as well have been Jurassic Park III

Hopefully the development hell for the finale will pay off greatly.

Also, with Trump actually running IRL, him losing the last election as the running mate is pretty hilarious in hindsight.
