The First Lady opposes military strikes against Syria.

Nice! Blame your wife for inaction. No one can blame a guy for listening to his wife.

I think women are referred to as "beautiful". (The wrong Assad is tall, but certainly not dark.)

"Handsome" can be used to describe a woman.  It is rare and old fashioned but you do see it from time to time.  Apparently in the past using "handsome" in that fashion was common.  If you want to waste your precious time read Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice and buried in the middle of those mind numbingly boring pages is "handsome" used in that context.

There Obama goes again. He listens to his wife when it comes to foreign matters instead of his advisers and cabinet members. Maybe he changed his mind because he's talked to Bill Ayers lately?

I'll just note it's rule number one of any political spouse, male or female, don't publically oppose your significant other's policies.

Too bad his daughters don't tell him this. They'd probably affect his decision more.

It certainly doesn't help anyone look like a united family. The Clintons have been separate enough to not be tied into each other's views. I believe it's helped with Obama being president instead of her as for the general election because it allows Hillary to have more time since her husband was in office. Obama was able to make the argument in debates "well sometimes I can't tell who I'm running against."

I remember Laura Bush endorsed SSM but kept quiet during 2004. But then she said publicly she wanted a woman to replace Sandra Day O'Conner iirc.

During the early 90s then First Lady Barbara Bush stated she was pro-choice.

This type of split between the President and First Lady is rare, but it's happened before.

Assad's been banging Michelle? It all makes sense now.

Well she might want him to bang her, it seems, but Assad's wife is far hotter than M.O.

That depends on your tastes.  Wink

Michelle might have had a better understanding of the situation than Barack.

It wouldn't surprise me if his wife knew more than him.
