no.  and i have a child.

would my son benefit from a policy should i die?  of course.

however, i am a poor.  my son would not benefit if i took money out of my budget to make life insurance payments.  every dollar matters in my house.

No.  I have no dependents and as an investment, life insurance isn't all that great.

Agreed

Now term insurance on the other hand is quite cheap. A 30 year old non-smoker can get a $500 000, 30 year term for under $50/month.

Walter, you might want to look into getting a small term policy to cover a funeral. They're extremely cheap.

Why would I care about post death expenses?

no, but I am named as beneficiary on my mom's relatively small plan ($100k to me should she die).

I pay 26 cents every two weeks for an additional $10k over a $10k plan I get simply by being employed.

Yes, of course.  I'm the primary bread winner, so my wife and kids would be screwed if I were to die without it.  I'm 10 years into a 30 year $500k term plan.  My work kicks in 2 years of salery too.

No. I did, but I realized it was a scam.  I was alive for three consecutive years and never saw a dime.

No, but I don't have any children. If I had dependents and/or children, I almost certainly would have some kind of policy.

Yes, I get one free at work.  I don't pay for the optional extra life insurance, but I probably will once I have a family to support.

No - it is a luxury I cannot afford. I also cannot afford health insurance.

As I don't have any children yet, obviously not.
