Hell no.  I'm anti-death penalty, but that doesn't mean I feel any sympathy when I see a murderer, a torturer, or a serial rapist executed.  I have no more sympathy for them than I would if I saw Japanese soldiers in China and Korea at the end of the war being executed.  Yes, Assad's people are that bad.

Counting the war crimes of some against every single soldier - that is as bad as treating all members of the rebel forces as Sunni extremists who like to lop off heads.

Yes and no. They're bad people, but I've always opposed the death penalty and any other kinds of ritual killings.

It depends. Even though I don't support capital punishment, vicious murderers that are executed get no sympathy from me. If one did not kill or otherwise order a killing, I'd say yes to this question. With that said, I have a big problem where due process and the rule of law isn't being observed.

Why is it that even when BRTD asks a perfectly legitimate question, you guys unload on him almost as if he were a troll?

When a poll's results are 90%/10%, chances are the question wasn't that legitimate.
Asking if executed war criminals deserve sympathy is perfectly legitimate.

Well said.

To use an analogy for the yes voters, did you have any personal sympathy for Gaddafi when he was killed? You could argue it was inappropriate and a war crime, but that's quite different from personally caring about Gaddafi himself. You could even say the same thing about the unambiguously illegal killing of Osama bin Laden.

More sympathy than for those who make blatantly ignorant threads pertaining to Syria.
