Hi guys.

Sorry for attention whoring yet again, but I thought this was worth a formal announcement. Starting tomorrow, I will be taking a one-month break from the forum. I won't post, or even check out, until October 16.

It wasn't an easy decision to make, but I've come to realize I badly need some time off. For almost 5 years, I came there and posted almost every single day. And over this period, I have spent 14% of my life here. I have no regrets about this - I love this place, and I very much enjoy posting. Tongue However, I've come to realize that this has taken too much place in my life, at the expense of other, more important things. It's bad enough when I'm on vacation, but now that university has begun again and I'll soon start having homework, my level of involvement in the forum is unsustainable. The sad thing is, I can't get myself to simply reduce my activity. I've tried several times, but it doesn't work. If I'm here, I have be here full-time. So leaving for a while is the only solution I've found.

Now, I'm absolutely not planning to leave permanently. Again, I love this place too much! I will be back after a month. Still, it feels weird for me to leave you guys. To the few people who might miss me, I'm really sorry. To all those who won't, I hope you enjoy this month. Wink Obviously, I'm still available through other channels, for those who can reach me through them.

So, hope y'all have fun without me! Smiley I'll see you again soon enough.

Hahaha you said y'all!  Becoming a bit to acclimatized to American cowboy talk, ehh?

I hope you can stay through this one month period.  I tried to abstain before, failed quite dramatically.  I find that now days it's much easier to abstain through natural causes, like working a 46 hour week or having a social life in the nearby town of 60,000 people instead of living like a hermit in some college dorm or apartment.  I used to have a lot of the same problem, Antonio, though I won't go through explaining how bad it was because you were there.

Well good luck and I hope this really helps improve your life.

-Mecha

EDIT:  Over 26,000!!!!!!  Holy hell, you do have a problem.  Start a bad drug habit or start stalking girls man.

I admire your resolve; your absence will be felt.

See you in a month when you start up AtaFrance. Wink

Well, I had to go out with class. Wink

And yes, it's definitely a hard task I've set for myself. So hard I did not even imagine doing such a thing until a few days ago. I can only say I'll force myself to abide by it, but yeah, I'm pretty sure it will hurt a lot.

I'm glad one of us got some sense. If we all had the willpower to boycott this place we might re-prioritize our lives for the better and commit ourselves to success.

Hi guys! Smiley So you decided to shut down the government just when I was away? Tongue

Anyway, these past 33 days made me learn a lot about myself, and I'm now resolved to take a different approach to the forum. There are just so many things I want to spend time doing and I have to make some choices. I'm thinking I might limit myself to posting here on weekends or on holidays, if that works.

The real world is way more fulfilling than the Atlas. This place is for filling in gaps. Enjoy your time off?

You didn't miss too much in this American Punch and Judy puppet circus.

The same ridiculous thing will come up in Jan./Feb. again ...

Having lost your "prediction", you owe me to shut up, at least this time. Wink

Actually, yes. Smiley I was surprised to see I could find other ways to occupy my time (though nothing too exciting, before you ask Wink).

Nice to see you again on here. I'm sort of back, but like you, I'm not planning on participating the way we both did in the past... Smiley
