Okay bros. After his incredibly close re-election four years ago, President Jefferson has decided to call it a day on this whole "President forever" thing. The heir apparent to his accomplishments--a more "republican" domestic policy, a strong alliance with post-Revolutionary France, reform of the Navy, the recent Louisiana Purchase--is Secretary of State James Madison. However, not all are accepting of Madison and a number of potential candidates have come forward. The Federalist party, having come incredibly close to unseating Jefferson in 1800, now looks to finally reclaim leadership of America. Hamilton is the obvious choice to lead the party, but hardly the only one. Rufus King has the support of a number of more liberal Federalists that are uneasy over the economic and social ramifications of slavery. Meanwhile, John Marshall stands as the potential champion of Southern Federalists who have seen the Northern end of the party dominate to long.

Important note, after the House Election of 1800, the electoral system has been reformed to the "modern" system. Three days. Booyah.

We could use some more votes, folks, especially on the Federalist side.

Also, remember to request VP nominations when you vote (if you vote. Jesus, we need more votes!).

I would say Madison, but since there are more votes needed for the Federalists, I'll go with Hamilton and King.

Force President Jefferson to be Madison's running mate.

Force President Jefferson to be Madison's running mate.

Oops.  I realize that you can't have two Virginians, or two people from the same state.  I'll change my VP choice to Burr.

I would say Madison, but since there are more votes needed for the Federalists, I'll go with Hamilton and King.

Also from the same state.

I'd be left to choose the VP if all we had were two New Yorkers nominated. As of now it'll likely be King/Marshall or King/Pinckney.

Also, a correction is being issued. As opposed to a Senator, Hamilton is the nation's former Vice President currently, having resigned after little over a year of serving under Jefferson.
