So with the drop of GTA5 (which is nearing a billion dollars of sales in the first week!!!) I thought it'd be nice and dandy to have an entire thread dedicated to wonderful upcoming video games for the good of us all.

EDIT: green text = released (you can still click on the title of the game to be redirected to the wiki page)

I'll start.

2013

Call of Duty: Ghosts (due out November 5th on all consoles, will be released in conjunction with PS4 and Xbox One later)
NBA 2K14 (due out October 1st in the US, October 4th in Europe and in conjunction with PS4 and Xbox One later)
Pokemon X and Y (due out Worldwide on the 3DS on October 12th)
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (due out October 29th in North America, October 31st in Australia, November 1st in Europe and November 28th in Japan, PS4 and Xbox One at a later date)
Battlefield 4 (due out October 29th in North America, November 1st in Europe, will be released in conjunction with PS4 and Xbox One later)

2014

Titanfall (coming March 14th 2014, Xbox exclusive)
Dying Light (release date conflicts, Gamestop pre-orders list release date as April 1st)
The Evil Within (release date TBA)
Destiny (release date conflicts, Gamestop pre-orders list release date as June 30th)

I probably missed a few. I know Fallout 4 is coming pretty soon, and Doom 4 is also in the works.

Have you even watched the trailer or seen the gameplay demos? Or are you just prematurely jumping on the "CoD is for stoopid nubz" bandwagon?

To be fair, EVERY CoD game has been for "stoopid nubz" so far (at least as far as multiplayer is concerned...which is really the only thing that matters in a FPS), why should we expect anything different for the next one?

and you forgot BF4 in your list.

Also, yeah but the campaign for this CoD actually looks really good for a change, which is refreshing.

Shoot I knew I was forgetting something

I just pre-ordered BF4 (haven't done that for a game in a long time).  The open beta (for pre-orders only) starts on Oct 1st.  My computer just meets the min requirements, but I may be able to just get a new video card and be ok.  Computer parts are so damn cheap anymore.  You can get a video card that will play the latest and greatest game for well under a $100.  It was double that ten years ago.  You can get a 2TB HD for $85.  My first HD cost $230 and had less memory than the video card I need to buy.

oh and GET OFF MY LAWN!!!

..and as expected, my rig barely runs the game on the lowest settings.  The other box (the wife's) can run it pretty well, also on the lowest settings, but her video card is a year newer, she's got twice the RAM (8 vs 4) and a slightly faster, but basically the same cpu.  I've got to wait another week and a half before the funds become available to buy a new video card.

le sigh, I don't like using other people's computers.

Yeah, with all these incredible games coming out, I'm trying to decide which new console I should save up for and get, since my PC can only run the new games on the lowest settings.

I know I'm a fool to, but I'm eagerly awaiting the single-player expansion pack for The Last of Us.

I'm certainly looking forward to:

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Destiny
Doom 4
And possibly Battlefield 4, still need to play more of Battlefield 3.

As to what console I'll get, I said earlier in the year on this forum I'll likely get an Xbox One, although considered the PS4 for a while, and haven't made a firm commitment to either. You could say I'm "lean Xbox One".

FPS and civ types games are ass on consoles and that's 90% of my gaming.  I do miss Rock Band and racing though.

I definitely need this, but rumour has it that it may not ever come out because the studio has zero management skills.

It appears so. It's a shame, really. Doom is one of my favourite game series of all time, and I really don't want to see it die a Duke Nukem death.

Neither do I, and I just realized I had typed Duke Nukem 3 instead of Duke Nukem Forever... LOL

Some indie titles I'm looking forward to for PC:

1. War for the Overworld - a true spiritual successor to the Dungeon Keeper series. You can get it on Steam Early Access now. Unlike some other dungeon management games, this one really does keep the core gameplay mechanics of the original series. I really can't wait until this one is completed.
2. Maia - Space colony management game. Again can be compared to Dungeon Keeper in some ways.
3. Stonehearth - Dwarf Fortress like voxel game.
4. Elite: Dangerous - Space trading/combat simulator based on classic. A video w/ combat rendered in-game was released last month- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE8B4KptyVI
5. Starbound - Terraria in space.
