A couple of people; Bandit, Link, probably some more I don't recall. Generally I'm too curious not to click show in any case, to the detriment of my own brain cells.

Down The Gurney

CTRattlesnake

So only three active users (as Down The Gurney admitted he was a troll and left). Generally, trolling/disruptiveness is what gets someone on my ignore list rather than differing political views.

There have also been a couple of people I've considered, but never actually gotten around to, putting on ignore because they clearly don't know what they're talking about in half their posts, but I guess I didn't find that quite as annoying.

No one. I'd probably just press "show post" and I'd rather read a thread to its fullest extent if I'm gonna read all the way through it.

I can't ignore people. I always want to read their comments, even if it is a clear troll.

Why do so many people have me on ignore? Should I stay off of the 2016 threads? Sad

I'm sad
It's okay barfy.  Some people just have very delicate sensibilities.

Zero,

I prefer reading their drivel and then making hateful remarks in response.  That makes me feel much better, I find.

PJ it's not that I dislike you or think you're a troll, I just don't like reading your posts. Nothing against you, I think it's just cuz you posted a whole bunch in one thread and it annoyed me.

Fun fact: Moderators actually have the ability to see who is ignoring us.

I ignore most people most of the time, not only here but in real life.

When that "ignore" feature first showed up, maybe five years ago, you could go to your profile and see how many people were ignoring you.  I remember that 2 people were ignoring me at some point in time, although I never clicked on the number 2 to see if it showed who they were.  At some later point that statistic went away.  It would be useful, if we're going to have the ignore feature, to let us see who is ignoring us so that we're not wasting time trying to have conversations with them.

I've never used the ignore feature, both because I think I'm intelligent enough to ignore comments that I don't find particularly relevant without resorting to a software feature and because even the posters who annoy me most sometimes say something I find intriguing, but I have been aware of its existence for some time now.  Also, I'm opposed to censorship in general and on principle.  I should think that it disrupts the way one views the thread.  I assume that if you "ignore" a user, then his comments don't show up in the thread.  If you're trying to follow along, and a significant part of the conversation is censored, wouldn't it look strange and be hard to follow?

Krazen (BB has more charm anyway)
Link (all of his posts in USGD seem to be hypocrisy)
Oldies (bubbledwelling, plus the Deluge/GPG incident)
ElectionsGuy (not a fan of bubbledwellers)
TX Conservative Dem (this is the first poster to be ignored for stupidity)
JCL (I honestly didn't know he was on ignore, but probably because stupidity and because I'm more of a libertarian than he is)
CTRattlesnake (f(inks)ing MRA fedoras)

It should be a feature of the "Ignore" button that you automatically ignore posts made in response to posters that you have on ignore.
