Is there evidence that Barack Obama is hated on a personal level by GOP politicians (or Democrats for that matter)? Needed for a term paper.

I know there is no love lost between McConnell and Obama, but I think Obama still maintains positive personal friendships with a number of GOP politicians.

You might want to start with a search on the relationship between McConnell and Obama and Boehner and Obama.  The latter I think has a good personal relationship with the president.

Isn't there some bizarre thing that Tom Coburn and Obama are bros?

Not really. The Senate was, and is to a lesser degree, a giant country club where the Senators fraternize with one another after work. Some bomb throwers like Ted Cruz show up every once in a while, but they get along.

Yeah, they are very close. The Romneys and the Pauls are also close.

I'm inclined to believe just about all of our politicians are very close, personally.

The hatred comes from the activist groups, driving wedges between people to inflame passions and get monetary contributions.

They're apparently actually very good friends -- they were in the same Senate freshman class.

Chris Christie seems to have a lot of personal respect for Obama.

Jan Brewer and Obama don't strike me as a good pair. Remember the whole confrontation on the tarmac?

No I don't think she likes the Obama Administration much especially with the Eric Holder factor with the Arizona Immigration Law. That wasn't nice of her to approaching Obama like that when he got off the plane though. I don't care about political views you just don't treat somebody that way.

Yeah Boehner and Obama are golf buddies and  both are very easy going. No McConnell was the only one to out maneuver Obama thus far. Remember the debate on the 2010 extension of the Bush Tax Cuts McConnell outsmarted Obama there. Obama isn't used to get beat. Of course Obama got his way mostly on the 2012 Tax Cuts since people making 450K and under got a tax cut. Obama wasn't gonna be outsmarted twice by McConnell.

Look up all the birthers in Congress.  That should be enough information for a dissertation... or two.  You can start with Texan Ted Poe.  I've heard a lot of vile hateful things said about presidents in my lifetime but actually introducing legislation questioning the citizenship and legitimacy of a sitting a president is a new low.

On a personal level? I wouldn't say that's an actual thing.

Calling someone's mom a liar is pretty personal where I live.

Being a sore loser =/= hating someone on a personal level.

I don't know man.  I have never seen someone introduce a bill that questions the integrity of a sitting president's mother.  That's way beyond being a sore loser.

Who cares? The personalities may hate each other, but that is a distraction from the policies.

No there's no proof anyone has ever hated Obama for anything. People don't pay enough attention to stories about Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers to support such a theory. No one really hates him as a person.

McCain hasn't had much love for Obama due to some stuff in Obama's first Senate term. There's a chapter in Game Change that outlines all of it. I actually think since 2012 they have seemed at least publicly more friendly than ever.

I'd actually be surprised to discover a lot of actual animosity in the day to day world of politics.  When it comes down to the brass tacks, Obama and the various representatives and senators are essentially coworkers.  So while I'm sure there is contention, and indeed even some contempt (we've all worked with folks we don't like), I think that by and large he probably at the very least has a working relationship with most in Congress, and probably considers himself a friend of many as well.  You can have some very serious and divisive views on how things should be done, but at the end of the day still kick back and appreciate anothers company.  Friends after 5 P.M. and all that jazz.

He hasn't been hated nearly as much as Bush was by the left.
