You know this had to be made into a poll. Personally seems like a bygone relic of the sexual practices of an older generation, done in by the advances of technology, sort of like Playboy magazines and x-rated theaters. Which makes it appropriate that Bushie likes it since Oklahoma seems to be stuck in a time bubble keeping it 50 years in the past.

Never tried it. Suspect I wouldn't like it because I don't think voice alone would be enough for me. I find all the exaggerating moaning in porn annoying.
When I was in Middle School, I found my brother's Penthouse magazine in his room. My dad's girlfriend's son (awkward construction I know, but I totally grew up with him, and sorry to say he passed away last year) and I were planning to call one of those phone sex ads in the back from a pay phone, but we never got around to it. Totally would have happened if he had lived within walking distance or gone to the same school as me. And then I would have a more informed opinion Sad

I remember that quite well, but I can't remember if it was from the 80s or the 90s.  I suppose it is side effect of AIDs, prudish police state in general, and the difficulty and danger of finding prostitutes given those two factors.

In general, I'm not a big fan. I'm not sure how others do it, but what Memphis said sounds really odd to me - you don't do moaning. What you do is describing what things you do to each other.

Skype sex is ok though, since it's also visual. But none of it measures up to the real thing.
