3 days, pretty boring this time but continuing on, WW2 is on the horizon, Thomas is a pacifist against involvement in WW2 and running again (he has won every time he has run this far), Communist ticket is the same and still under Soviet influence.

Thomas running mate is professor Maynard Krueger

The Prohibition nominee Babson is a business thinker and a founder of multiple colleges, he was an early predictor of the coming Great Depression back in the late 1920s.

Because of Babson's business background and Thomas being a pacifist when I myself would be in favor of WW2 intervention, Babson gets my vote.

And they'd evidently stick with that if a communist USA was on board?

Yeah, without hindsight, the CPUSA at this time, like the Soviets were in a pact with the Nazis, however OTL (with hindsight) obviously when Hitler invaded the Soviet Union the CPUSA totally flipped and become pro-intervention and anti-Axis.

yeah the Stalinist line at this point was anti-Anglo/French imperialist rather than anti-Nazi, quite disappointing for the rank-and-file that had filtered through the CP in the '30s due to its stance as a vanguard of anti-fascism.

Closest election so far, but Thomas hangs on 257 to 234 with the midwest being the key. A very regional election means the Prohibition party dominated the south while the midwest and west went for the Socialists. The Communists win northeast states for 40 electoral votes, their best showing yet.
