I'm in a tough situation with my family right now, and I don't want to get too specific right now but I'm afraid my parents are going to get divorced, which came as a total surprise to me earlier today and I'm still trying to cope with. My entire world has been basically shattered and I'm going through a ton of emotions. Call me crazy, but I see you guys as sort of friends and I feel like I need some help from the outside in dealing with this situation. Thanks in advance Sad.

Sorry to hear that, Alfred.  That's really rough.  I used to babysit a lot for a few of my nephews and nieces in my teens and early twenties, and it was extremely difficult for me to see how much their parents' divorces saddened those kids--they were obviously younger than you are now at the time, and had far fewer ways to deal with it emotionally.  It's not an easy time for anyone when their parents split up, and I'm not going to pretend that any platitudes I can roll off will make it any easier.  What I will say is that almost all the nephews and nieces of mine that went through those tough times learned a lot from them, hard as that was, and became some of the best young people I know today.  Hang in there, and learn all you can manage to learn from it, and you'll be ok.  I know all our best wishes are with you.

So sorry to hear that, friend. I can't imagine what you're going through, but I sure hope things shape up for you and your family. Life sucks sometimes, but the best thing to do is find a healthy coping mechanism and take out your frustrations in that way. If you'd like to talk, I'm here for you, as are many other members. You're right when you say we're you're friends, and we're here for you.

Regards,
Carl

I'll pray for you, Alfred.  We're here for your support.  Sadly I do not have much advice to offer you, but please know that you'll be surprised what you can handle in life, no matter how bad things get.
