This could factor in as one of my first memories but I remember being at my grandparents apartment in Canarsie and the Pirates won the World Series. We are family was played. I would have been 20 months.  I also have a hazy recollection of watching the Islanders win one of those Stanley Cups and hearing We are the Champions.

Probably a Queen, Tears for Fears or Cyndi Lauper song (my parents are big fans of eighties music).

The first song that made an impression on me, independent from those, would be Cast's - Walkaway.
