I'm asking for your subjective opinions on what age range classes one, in your mind, as old, generally. Of course, from person to person, it can truly be "just a number", but I'm asking for your generalized views on the matter.

As in "who's the weird old guy?" when people talk about 30-year-old BRTD or "I'm old and my friends are dying"?

If the former I'd go with about 35 and the latter late 60s.

This, but I consider 55 to be the cutoff for even the most energetic, healthy people.

It's unfortunate that we have seen the retirement age increased, rather than lowered as of late. Really, I would say people should start retiring while in their fifties, even at 50 itself. That's when I would mark someone as "older." Plus people shouldn't have to work their entire f**ing lives.

I consider myself old, and I'm 31, but in reality, with today's medicine I believe anything under 70 is still young enough to have fun.  Old for me would then begin at 70 and even then only loosely.  I truly believe that you are only as old as you feel.

If I had your lifestyle... I'd feel old at 31... and I'm 30.

1. because you are overweight and out of shape
2. more to life than the pursuit of fun- this is an infantile approach to things
3. If you truly believed it , you should start acting like it.

As for OP, late 70's are when the bulk of people who havent been culled yet rapidly start loosing their fastballs physically and mentally

Well, I feel that nothing lies before me but the meaningless wait for death.

Inks all of you who picked the first option. Tongue

I certainly agree with the incorrigible old man's sentiment, but I'm into leather now, so out comes the whip and one death point. Torie.

Yep, and in working class areas, a healthy life disappears in the fifties.

34 years, 9 months and 20 days currently. One day older than I am at any given time.

But you don't have to do anything except get served, Torie.  One can do that up until the very end.
