I saw this page pop up on my Facebook feed a few minutes ago.  It is a list of findings from various studies on the brain taken over several years.  The purported findings are as follows:

How much stock would you put into these findings?

If it floats around on Facebook, it floats around in the toilet.

I'd smack it with a big red stamp that says "[citation needed]" as would any intelligent person, conservative or liberal.

Edit: And I've again outed myself as an unintelligent person by failing to click the link before replying. Lesson learned: Do not put too much faith in the text quoted in the OP.

The current fiasco in Washington pretty much refutes #10.

There's reason to be skeptical of social psychology claims about political ideology, but several of these in this list seem plausible if understood in a limited sense.  The "differences in brains" language is too strong and deterministic - differences in mental/neurological responses is better, and even then it's a matter of relative frequencies, not an absolute difference.  Number 10 is almost a tautology, though it is modified greatly by political and social interests of those who support an ideology (ex. business executives tend to support conservative politics but may be less risk averse).

Jonathan Haidt has made some interesting arguments about how conservatives tend to rely on a wider variety of values that include sanctity and purity, among others.  On the other hand, it's often liberals who are at most ubiquitous in environmental activism and lifestyle trends that are characterized by a concern for the sanctity of the environment and revulsion at pollution.

yeah, [citation needed] but some of these seem kind of reasonable.

The list is a weird mix of neurobiological studies with pure psychological findings. The referenced journals are all over the spectrum as well. For me it suggests the person compiling the list was looking for connections that really can't be supported from these individual findings.

[citation needed] as far as I'm concerned. I could see the idea that people who have certain brain traits having a higher possibility of being liberal or conservative as somewhat plausible, but there still doesn't seem to be any solid proof of that, plus this article seems to have it the other way around anyway, with the idea that "you're liberal, therefore you're open minded"/"you're conservative, therefore you're closed minded".

My former stepfather has liberal views like myself and he's one of the most arrogant, self-righteous, closed-minded black-and-white, uncreative anti-intellectual jerks that I know.

Seems facially ludicrous to me. I think life experiences are far more important.

Life experience can make a great deal of difference in one's neural networks.
