Neutral... The movies were great, but Walt as a person had quite a few warts.

Like anyone he had good and bad sides to him. He was, first and foremost a cartoonist and entertainer. That's whay he needs to be judged on.

Pretty much this.

Disney is one of my totally contradictory ideological heroes, probably because Disneyland is one of my favorite places on earth.

Disgusting politically, but the early Disney movies are great.

Easily one of the most massive FFs in American history.

This.  And for those who claim the he was an anti-Semite, consider that he hired a LOT of Jews, such as the Sherman brothers, Art Babbitt, Al Hoffman, and a host of others.  And after he saw a screening of To Kill a Mockingbird, he said that it was the kind of film he'd always wanted to make.
And while we're on the subject...
(Never mind that Lady and the Tramp was made 11 years before Walt Disney died.)

Extreme and utter FF. He wasn't racist, and he was one of the best men in the movie industry.

Definitely not an FF. He wasn't always that likable and when it came to non-Mickey Mouse stuff, got a lot more credit than he actually deserved. He was also a bit of a coward(either that or totally effing naive, which ain't much better, IMO) when it came time to dealing with the rise of the Nazis in Germany at first; he actually opened up talks with German film companies just to increase his profits a little more. He was also a participant in that HUAC bulls**t that ruined so many lives in the '50s.

But then again, he wasn't a total HP, either. He did seem to be alright with African-Americans, at least, from what I've read.
