1812. The nation is still reeling from the very recent death of popular President George Clinton. Clinton's passing has left John Quincy Adams, a Federalist, in charge of the country. It is the first time a Federalist has held the Presidency since John Jay, though they've had a healthy grip on the Vice Presidency, interrupted only by James Monroe. President Adams, nominated by both the Fusion and Federalist parties, is running on the Clinton administration's diplomatic triumphs in keeping the United States out of war with Europe, and is proposing greater funding for internal improvements and education throughout the United States, as well as a more protectionist trade policy. His domestic platform flies in the face of Clinton's views on limited government and free trade. Nevertheless, the Fusion part has chosen him to continue Clinton's legacy and, just to make sure as well as to capitalize on sympathy following Clinton's death, has nominated DeWitt Clinton for Vice President. The late President Clinton's nephew, a former Senator, and the current Mayor of New York City, Clinton has been one of the builders of the Fusion Party in New York since his uncle took office in Washington, and has worked to cajole moderate Federalists over to the party. His policies also resemble those of Adams than his uncle's. The Federalists have, of course, nominated Adams and for Vice President have paired him with Ambassador Rufus King. Finally, the Republicans have nominated James Monroe for President. Their most recent electoral "victor", in the post-Jefferson era, he's been the Republican second-in-command during Clinton's first term and is their greatest hope of re-acquiring the presidency.

As a footnote, I'd like to state that it seems the thread in which results are compiled has gone missing, assumedly deleted by one or more of the authoritarian moderators who see fit to order all things as they like, as if they were deities, which they most certainly are not. Maybe only in the Greek variety, which I mean as an insult.
