http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2013/10/03/more-white-evangelicals-than-american-jews-say-god-gave-israel-to-the-jewish-people/

Percent of White Evangelicals believing God gave Israel to the Jewish people: 82

Percent of Jews believing God gave Israel to the Jewish people: 40

Nonreligious Jews are tied with those of no religious affiliation as least likely to believe the State of Israel is God's will (16%). But even among religious Jews as a whole, less than half believe that is the case (47%); the figure jumps to 90% among Modern Orthodox Jews.

This has a heavy dose of self-selection bias as it surveyed American Jews, not Jews in general.  Would not Jews who believe the proposition tend to have already moved to Israel and thus not be sampled by this survey?

Looks about right. The Jewish side family has never gotten on well with that 40%.

It also surveyed American Evangelicals, who seem to have a strong political obsession with Israel than Evangelicals in most other nations.

I'd also like to point out that a large number of non-religious Jews likely don't believe in God, so it shouldn't be surprising they don't believe God gave them Israel as a homeland.

Religious Jews are 50% of Jewish population in Israel and not even all of them agree "god" gave the state to Jews. among secular Jews I have never heard anyone claim for a right on the land due to "god"'s promise.
