After consulting with a few fine folks, I've made the decision to jump into the Mideast Senate election coming up. This was not easy to do, and I initially wrote off any such plans, but I felt compelled to given the current crop of candidates. On the Federalist side there has only been one candidate who, rightly or not, has provoked strong reactions from all sides and has not had a consistent record of electability. We have two fine people running on the Labor side who have impressive resumes, though I don't believe that all of their ideas represent the majority of Mideasterners.

I'm running on a platform of fiscal responsibility and the expansion of civil liberties. I see a federal government that has gradually been bloated, and one that wants to actively reduce the responsibilities of regional governments. This I see as misguided, and I will be a staunch advocate for regional sovereignty should I be elected. In the coming days I will be more specific about my stances on issues. Whatever happens, I expect a dynamic campaign and one that hopefully remains civil on all sides. I welcome any questions and general comments to come my way.

This is a typical win-win situation for me. If you win we will have a very competent Mideast Senator who I agree with on a wide range of issues, and if you lose I will have the honor of keeping you as a highly active Lt. Governor. Tongue

I am looking forward to an interesting primary and general election campaign. Best of luck, partner! Smiley

I'd like to publicly congratulate Talleyrand for his win in the Labor primary. I also want to remind all of my Federalist supporters that the convention to officially nominate Senate candidates begins tomorrow, so don't forget to vote for me then. As always, questions/comments/concerns are appreciated.

As a note to everyone interested in these elections, I will not be as active as I initially hoped to be in these coming days. My grandfather passed away and I will have to help organize and attend the funeral with the rest of the family over the course of the week. Assuming that I win the Federalist nomination (which seems likely now), I thank everyone who has supported me so far. I look forward to this election, which seems as competitve as ever. Take care.

Condolences on the passing of your grandfather, Spiral. You will definitely be in my thoughts over the coming days. I hope we'll still be able to hear your thoughts and ideas over the coming days, even if they are less frequent.

I am truly sorry man. Sad

I wish you the best of luck this weekend and I hope no one uses it against you. Real life events should always take priority over a game. I had a family crisis of my own last month.

I endorse you for Senate and look forward to working with you when you return.

I would like to thank the good people of the Mideast who have voted for me in this general election. It seems that I'm the victor in this race with a sizable lead and with my opponent conceding earlier. Talleyrand has waged an absolutely wonderful campaign, and he should be rightfully recognized for his dedication and diligence. I hope he continues to do good things in Atlasia in the future.

Going into the Senate soon, I'm filled with hope. I think that despite the wide range of opinions across the political spectrum found in the chamber's members, we can all ultimately come to logical conclusions in our legislation. While I stick to deep principles as I'm sure most others out there do, I'm not afraid to reach out when it's possible. I've always tried to achieve unity throughout my life, and although my political career here so far has been short, I'd like to think that it has also reflected that. I'll work vigorously to represent my constituents in the Mideast, but let's not forget that we are Atlasia, one nation, united. Thank you all, and I'll see you in the Senate!

Congratulations on your victory, Spiral. While I doubt we'll see eye to eye on much, a friend of civil liberties is a friend of mine. Welcome to the Senate of Atlasia.
