As a socialist, my answer should be obvious.

We would all better off without our modern day electronic leashes.  At least I've been able to limit mine to just a dumbphone so far.

What a great question.  Trying to figure out what groups of people we can label as parasites always leads to such wonderful things.

People who rely on welfare only do so because they have no opportunity to make their own wealth because of the rich. Option 2.

Please explain how it is the fault of the rich that the poor are poor. I am curious to hear your explanation.

This.

There's a good chunk of both that are parasitic, and there's a decent chunk of both who aren't parasitic. But as an evil capitalist, I'll lean Option 1 for detailed reasons that I don't want to explain all here.

I must be a secret Republican.  That middle bar is close to what I think the income distribution should be.

here is the correct answer:

the poor depend more on the government for their survival, so obviously they are more 'parasitic'

though the resources we give the rich dwarf those we give to poors.

No, they're aren't. Kids without food are not parasites. Adults who do not work or "work" by "managing" a portfolio or collecting a dividend check while making millions of dollars, then afford the mother of that child only $7.25 per hour are parasites. Period.

Right,, it's the fault of the state policy for allowing the existence of the rich.

A parasite takes without giving anything in return. So neither group is truly parasitic, as they both contribute in some way. As to which group is more parasitic, I would say that welfare dependents are, as they contribute less to the economy proportionate to what they receive.
