Hate them all, but if I had to choose, I would say Vietnam.

Vietnam and Cuba seem least objectionable by far. I voted Vietnam but am now thinking that I perhaps should have voted Cuba.

Technically there are only socialist states--communism is inherently stateless. China, Laos, and Vietnam are state capitalist oligarchies, and North Korea is...North Korea. This leaves Cuba, which despite numerous human rights issues (otherwise my parents may still be living there) has the best living standards and likely has the best future ahead of it (hopefully transitioning into a democratic socialist state after the Castros keel over).

I would have to say Cuba because, as mentioned earlier, they have decent living standards. Vietnam comes n a close second, though, because their subtle transition to capitalism is faring much better compared to other countries in the region.

I agree with Snowstalker's response. Also, North Korea doesn't even put a serious effort into pretending to be communist anymore. Its ideology is Juche. My vote is on Vietnam though; a Cuban equivalent to neighborhood watch groups report subversive / politically incorrect folk to the authorities. I'd rather not be in jail.

North Korea, for the record, is probably closer to Nazism than anything else (they're big on Korean supremacy, though thankfully there are no minorities to persecute in either Korea).

A lot of the pieces are there, though it bears noting that they don't seem to have a fascist economic system.

Well, let's see.....North Korea is an Orwellian hellhole, Laos and Vietnam are as poor as hell, China isn't even really Communist anymore(and is super corrupt besides!), yet Cuba has halfway decent healthcare, baseball, and some Cubans have a nostalgia for '50s American cars, apparently.....so yeah, Cuba's the least screwed-up of the five so that's where my vote goes.
