What can one expect of a corrupt and autocratic Governor? Watch for falling approval ratings.

Walker only got elected in 2010 for several reasons:
1. Jim Doyle (D) was unpopular and likely would have lost reelection if he had tried for a 3rd term.
2. Tea Party
3. Anti-Obama sentiment, which also swept several WI Dems out including U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) out of office in the Senate race.
4. Folks had Doyle fatigue after 8 years and wanted new blood.
5. Bartlett was an AWFUL candidate (include the 2012 recall election, Bartlett is 0-3 in statewide elections).
6. GOP Wave in 2010.

On this possible scandal: we have to wait and see if more developments come in and he's not in any danger of losing reelection bid for 2nd term in 2014, but I do believe he's gunning for the presidency in 2016 regardless.

Add another:

7. An unusually-well organized, well-funded stealth campaign. There's no stealth now. He runs on his record.

I am satisfied that the anti-labor, anti-environmentalist, anti-poor, and anti-intellectual will still give strong support to Scott Walker for any political ambitions. He is a perfect tool.  He will get copious funds for any political campaign. He is careful to avoid overt racism (basically he believes in equality among the peons) and he makes no insane pronouncements on foreign policy. He seems untainted by any scandal for personal gain.

Interesting.  This election could be a test on how scandals can hurt someone who's in a very strong position before.

Wasn't then-Missouri Governor Matt Blunt (R) considered a rising star in the GOP before he bailed the MO governorship after only 1 term ?

He had a big honeymoon period, but he blew that pretty quickly.  I suspect part of it was that he had the connections to potentially become one of the more influential Republican Governors if he had been perceived as having done a good job.

Even with a scandal, this election could end up being close with Scott Walker winning.

We need to stop either Kasich or Walker so they won't launch prez campaign. He may be tough to beat but not Chris Christie.

So?

I fail to see what the real scandal is? Esp. since administrations of all stripes do things like this all the time.

Your truly grasping for straws if you think this is some hard hitting scandal pbrower.

Deeds that look like enrichment of political cronies may be subtle scandals. It may not be as blatant as taking a bribe, embezzling, or sordid sex.

Walker is an arrogant SOB, the Wisconsin economy is doing badly, and he has created plenty of enemies. There could be plenty of mass demonstrations again this summer, and such is not good for getting re-elected.
