Unbelievable. If Boehner and other RINO traitors were going to surrender anyway, what the hell was the point of all this? Why get our hopes up for absolutely nothing?

What exactly did you think could have been achieved?

Love it.

You have to admire Mitch McConnell. He's very good at this politics lark.

Another deal that will pass without the majority of the house majority.

House republicans can't keep abdicating their governing duties.

Whoa, I hope that's true. If so, the debt ceiling nonsense is over forever.

Sounds like it's only good until Feb. 7th, not in perpetuity.

We'll be going through this all again come Christmastime.

FROM CNN

SOURCE: SENATE "CLOSE TO A DEAL" AND "COULD BE FILED TONIGHT"

They also said Boehner may allow to vote once it reaches the Senate.

If this is true, which I doubt, Boehner will see a challenge to his job.

Boehner lost his job the moment the shutdown happened. This was the inevitable end result.

I'll be optimistic here and say we're done for good.  The temporary date is an appeasement to the far right. Enough Republicans have learned their lesson. It's not going to shutdown in Jan.

There won't be any controversy next time.

Repeal of Obamacare, impeachment and execution of Barack Obama, repeal of the 13th, 15th and 24th Amendment. What did you think?

He tries that, they will hang him upside down by his balls.
Let them try. Cruz has prosthetic balls of steel.

Okay, I'm done trolling.

Unbelievable. If Boehner and other RINO traitors were going to surrender anyway, what the hell was the point of all this? Why get our hopes up for absolutely nothing?

That's why Boehner tried to avoid the shutdown for a long time, but had to give in, and it's why 80% of GOP Senators despise Cruz right now. Boehner surrendered to the Tea Party with the shutdown and surrendered again now.

But I don't understand why he had to give in to them a few weeks ago but has to surrender today. They still oppose the deal, so why didn't he pass it with Dem votes from the beginning?
Because he would have been out of a job asap then. Maybe not now, though he's much weakened anyways - that was realistically inevitable if the GOP went to battle. Also because he would have hoped to get some kind of deal somewhat more favorable to Republicans this way, and may well actually be right with that.

OK Republicans, if we were just going to concede, why not do it at the very beginning so we don't take a hit at midterms? Jeesh.
