I live due west of my workplace.

Drive to work... sun's in my eyes.
Drive home from work... sun's in my eyes.

Sometimes I just want to end it all.

I couldn't find a clean pair of boxers last night, so I wore briefs that were slightly too small.

The Red Sox lost last night.

I had to run a mile in gym on Tuesday.

I haven't gotten laid in over a year.

I get annoyed when the tram/train/bus I'm waiting for is a few minutes late.

My cars air conditioner is not working right and it does not have Sirius XM, like my dads car which I have been driving in the interim. No Howard Stern Sad.

My husband is emotionally upset over the new i-Phone because he could only get it in white. We need to get a face masking cover to calm him down Smiley

Red lights.
My iPhone is too slow.
I can't find fast links for Project Runway season 12.
I slept in on my day off this week.
I have to go to court to pay a ticket-okay, that's a second-world problem too probably.

Well, since I'm great at finding things to complain about:

  • My employer won't give me more hours because they'd have to get me health insurance.
  • The average rent for an apartment in town is higher than my monthly gross pay.
  • I'm underemployed, with my current income falling about 33% short of the poverty line.
  • I'm a lonely romantic without a girlfriend in over three years; still a virgin and never been kissed.
  • What I want most in life is love but I just get rejected, cheated on, or eventually dumped.
  • The local branch of my political party is so FUBAR that there's nobody to accept my application to join.
  • I cannot seem to reliably control when I wake up each morning.
  • I've plans to write over a dozen books but no motivation to actually write most of the time.
  • A political career is basically ruled out for me by my eccentricity, lingering social phobia, and autism.
  • It is very embarrassing being 24 with the overall maturity and life skills of a teenager.
  • My knowledge of some areas of study is vast, but I've no productive outlet for applying it to my labors.
  • I am smart enough to know what is wrong with me but oft too neurotic to function well independently.
  • My only friends are online; none of them enjoy spending time with me as much as I do with them.
  • I have to commute on a bike all year in a rural area; driving tests for cars are too stressful for me.
  • The daily weather patterns are such that I must ride into a headwind both to and from work.
  • I'd be fine riding a motorcycle but under law I cannot do that without passing driving tests in cars.
  • No careers within my reach have much - in any - appeal to me; work is mostly a burden.
  • My dream job is being a poli sci prof. but I can't handle the stress of going back to uni for more degrees.
  • My fallback job of choice is being a librarian but that is also out of reach for the aforementioned reason.
  • I'd also thrive on being a state-level legislator but haven't a snowball's chance in hell at getting elected.
  • I'm poor but do not qualify for TANF, food stamps, or any subsidies for Obamacare's insurance mandate.
  • If my parents weren't so generous I'd be homeless with untreated clinical depression in spite of working.
  • I try to be financially responsible but don't have enough income to set aside anything for saving.
  • My socioeconomic position forces me to focus on basics for survival rather than striving for fulfillment.
  • Most of my dreams are about things that bring me distress.
  • Trips to town are a hassle; locking up the bike takes time and I always arrive sweaty.
  • The interest I get from local banks and credit unions seldom keeps up with the rate of inflation.
  • I am too much of an underachiever to get the social approval and positive attention from others I crave.
  • I want to be vegetarian but am too finicky to get enough protein without meat.
  • Almost every food I like is unhealthy for me and/or prohibitively expensive to have often.
  • Either I exercise and go hungry every day, or continue to creep unhealthy closer to obesity.
  • I get nagged on by one parent for not prioritizing traditionalism in lifestyle over living within my means.
  • I seem to be a magnet for deer flies, horse flies, mosquitoes, yellowjackets, and wasps.
  • Can't rip videos from online (e.g. YouTube) anymore for some reason.
  • As a self-critical perfectionist, I more or less perpetually condemn myself to low self-esteem.
  • I am very forgetful and awful when it comes to executive functioning.
  • I am very clumsy, oft jumble up my words, and generally give off the impression of being an idiot.
  • I want to adopt kids or animals, and help other people, but it's too much of a struggle to even help myself.
  • My life is meaningless, insignificant, largely out of my power to control, and never free of worry and anxiety.
  • Without others to frequently lean on for practical advice and emotional support, poor mental health would force me into absolute poverty, then to suicide, in less than a year.

Also, on a lighter note, languages shouldn't be so hard to learn. I'd like to know Spanish and Russian, at least.

The department I currently work in, which was a great place when I arrived eight years ago, is now dead in the water, and it's sad.  Not just to see a talented group of people unravel themselves, which is bad enough in itself.  But it's also difficult watching the humanities die like helpless hunted animals in American universities.  The liberal arts are at my university completely disregarded.  And it's no surprise.  In terms of the hierarchy of the place, our direct boss is from criminal justice, that person's direct boss is from engineering, and everyone's big boss is an accountant.  Quantity rules and quality is a non-starter.  Absolutely dead in the water.  And it's sad.

It's been about 45 minutes for me...shoot me now!

Seriously though, my beater is still overheating/dying.  $900 will fix the leaking/broken water pump, but I don't want to drop that kind of money on a car that might not work next week.  I want a Miata, the wife wants something we can put more than 5 people in...so that's going to be a problem.

I specifically got out of work to take the 6.26 PM river shuttle reserved to the employees of the place I work at to get a seat (because there's also a public mall nearby and it gets crowded).
It was instead replaced by a public one, and I had to stand all the 8-minute trip to the subway station long.

Who the heck would buy/rent a home west of their workplace - that's a simple rule of them: never live west of your workplace if you're on a standard drone's schedule.

My problem? Hmm.  I find it quite annoying to get my maid in.. feels weird to have a stranger in the house messing about with my belongings.
