About to go to the first "real" party in my life at Waltham.

There is real people there? I was in Waltham last week and it seemed to be only hotels and stores. Not a real city.

The place around the university definitely is more of a quiet residential area than just hotels and stores.

So anyways the party wasn't that interesting since I neither drank nor danced. It does, I feel, speak to the character and nature of my university that even at this party much of the conversation concerned academic advice and classes.

I'll add in some word regarding a girl I have had pleasure making the acquaintance of in the past few days. She has an excellent personality combining both wit and kindness along with high intelligence and fine features. Wish me luck folks.

So apparently my person of interest's political views are the following:
-Indifferent/libertarian on social issues (she is bicurious and atheist after all)
-Economically pro free market/right-wing-at the least she is opposed to the ACA due to lack of proper compensation to doctors or something
-"Law and order": in favour of police militarization and crackdown on Ferguson protestors
-Hawkish on foreign policy, strongly supports Israel on Palestine
-Pro-surveillance
-Pro Bloomberg's soda tax and similar neo-blue laws

TL;DR her views are pretty much anathema to the Atlas Consensus (tm)

So a few coworkers asked me if I had a girlfriend I said no. Then they asked if I have had one at all I lied and said yes I have. So apparently I'm to the point where I'm making up girlfriends.

The girl I like is in one of my classes again. I'm not going to get into a full-blown song and dance about her but I've caught feels and I'm fine with it.

An old friend of mine (with a previous history of mental issues) may have tried/be trying to kill herself, I'm not up on the details and I feel helpless, especially because she lives in another state now and has deleted her Facebook account.

Yikes, is there any way you could get her info?

A dead grasshopper got into my house.  Maybe my cat brought it in, or maybe my cat killed it after it had come in alive.  Grasshoppers are nasty creatures, and I took it to the toilet immediately.

I was walking in front of a construction site just a few minutes ago, and there were about a dozen or so workers in front of it. I decided to go around them and walk on the road. I looked and they seemed to be voting on something with their hands raised, and the sight seemed provoke a sharp feeling of annoyance.

Make of this what you will. Ironically enough they seemed to be working on a townhouse.

Y'all discuss politics with girls? I've only been with far left/socialist girls sans one, so I wouldn't dare talk about things with them!

Today is my first day home after a week-long vacation to the Florida panhandle. I'm here to report that Mississippi and Alabama were significantly more wooded than I expected. I'm also here to report that, while in Alabama, I saw a black man driving a car with a "Romney/Ryan 2012" bumper sticker. Another bumper sticker anecdote that might interest someone: I spent a few seconds in traffic behind a vehicle whose driver "Purple heart the Old Latin Mass". Next to that sticker was one which admonished whoever was reading it to "Pray the Rosary".

Seen, on the street near my house - no rural area - as I left to catch the bus at about 8 AM this morning: one (1) chicken, crossing the road.

It's permitted to keep them, but I don't think the idea is that they get out into traffic...

A boat crashed on the Intracoastal about 100 yards from my house. No serious injuries, but it made the news and the helicopter has been buzzing above my house all evening.

Were you able to determine why it was crossing the road?

Yesterday was a success for college student organization day. We had a booth there for LAMBDA with a few us from last year sitting in to show all the new students what the groups about and all the cool stuff we do (Gay Games volunteering, pride parades, national conferences, parties, going to the zoo, etc) and handed out some fliers for the group, PFLAG, the LGBT Center, and also some colorful stickers and cookies. We also handed out free condoms to guys who wanted them. How we got those is a funny story. Tongue

I was the only guy at the booth (there was 3 of us), and I've got to say, I hope this ratio changes soon. We need more gay guys in the group! My friends in the group want me to run for Treasurer of LAMBDA this year (there's also a Pres., VP and Secy.) since a few others aren't able to since student offices require a lot of time and responsibility, so if I do run (deadline is next week), then I want it to be worth it b/c I mean I have no problem with any of the girls in the group, but I feel insecure sometimes as one of the only guys plus there are some girls in LAMBDA dating each other, so it's a very good hookup group, just not for any of us gays. Sad Unfortunately, mostly girls signed the information name/email sheet, but there were a few really cute guys who came by and wanted to get actively involved! Cheesy

Y'know, LeBron, most dudes would be excited to be surrounded by chicks and have so little competition in any club they joined.

Generally lesbians are not interested in having sex with gay men though. Actually from my experience having many gay male friends, they usually hate lesbians and vice versa.

I'm in a wedding this weekend should be fun. Wish it wasn't so expensive to be in someone's wedding though.
