1. Abortion is a woman's right Strongly Oppose (It's a human rights violation, pure and simple.)

2. Require companies to hire more women & minorities Oppose (Though I support merit-based quotas.)

3. Sexual Orientation protected by civil rights laws Support (Except for gay marriage, in which case, I would support civil unions but not redefining "marriage.")

4. Teach Values in public schools Neutral (It would depend on the values and how objective they are to all viewpoints)

5. Death Penalty Neutral (Should be left to the states)

6. Mandatory 3-strike sentencing laws Oppose (Again, should be left to the states)

7. Absolute Right to Gun Ownership Support (Although I support background checks and other common-sense gun control measures)

8. More Federal funding for health coverage Neutral (Reform our healthcare system first, and replace Obamacare with a more free-market approach)

9. Privatize Social Security Neutral (If we do it, we should create an emergency fund in case of an economic crisis)

10. Parents Choose Schools via vouchers Support (It actually makes all schools better by encouraging competition)

11. Replace coal & oil with alternatives Support (But while the technology is being developed)

12. Enforce Laws against Drugs Support (I had a cousin die from a heroin addiction, so this matters a lot to me)

13. Allow churches to provide welfare services Support (Just as long as government isn't sponsoring it, they should be allowed to have their own programs)

14. Make Taxes more progressive Strongly Oppose (It sounds good, but it creates a climat unfriendly to business, which hurts everyone)

15. Illegal Immigrants earn citizenship Neutral (I'm against amnesty, but simplify the immigration & citiznship processes)

16. Support & Expand Free Trade Neutral (I support free trade as long as there's a level playing field for all participants)

17. More Spending on the Armed Forces Neutral (I'm not sure we can afford to spend more, but cuts should be made in a way that reduces the risk to national defense)

18. Stricter Limits on campaign funding Oppose (Common-sense reform is OK, but it's still free speech and should be treated as such)

19. Patriot Act Harms civil liberties Neutral (It could, but it should only be done used against suspected terrorists to prevent this)

20. US Troops out of Iraq & Afganistan Neutral (We're already out of Iraq, and although I feel like the job's not done in Afghanistan, I'm not sure we can keep depleting our resources there like we have)

1. Abortion is a woman's right - Support

It should be her right until third trimester, at least.

2. Require companies to hire more women & minorities - Oppose

Affirmative action is okay but not the best way to promote an egalitarian society.

3. Sexual Orientation protected by civil rights laws - Strongly Support

People should be treated as of equal value regardless of what labels are affixed to them.

4. Teach Values in public schools - Strongly Oppose

Offer children the tools and information needed to consider and choose their own values.

5. Death Penalty - Strongly Oppose

It is morally deplorable for the state to initiate violence against any human being.

6. Mandatory 3-strike sentencing laws - Strongly Oppose

Mandatory sentencing seems like a overly rigid tool making lawmakers look tough on crime.

7. Absolute Right to Gun Ownership - Strongly Oppose

There are no absolute rights, and the right to own a gun should not be treated as such.

8. More Federal funding for health coverage - Strongly Support

At least a basic level of health insurance should be provided by the state to everyone.

9. Privatize Social Security - Support

It is a very flawed system; replace it with a basic income and public health insurance.

10. Parents Choose Schools via vouchers - Oppose

Maybe I'll change my mind on this at some point.

11. Replace coal & oil with alternatives - Strongly Support

Horrible energy sources are horrible.

12. Enforce Laws against Drugs - Support

I believe in rule of law. I strongly oppose laws against recreational drugs, however.

13. Allow churches to provide welfare services - Strongly Oppose

Churches can be charitable but the upkeep of human rights is a state responsibility.

14. Make Taxes more progressive - Strongly Support

Nearly everyone in the U.S. is undertaxed right now, especially high income earners.

15. Illegal Immigrants earn citizenship - Strongly Support

...if by "earn" you mean agree to abide by the law once they become citizens.

16. Support & Expand Free Trade - Support

Free trade is better in the long term than no trade, though fair trade can be great, too.

17. More Spending on the Armed Forces - Strongly Oppose

R&D may deserve more funding but on the whole I support very deep cuts to defense.

18. Stricter Limits on campaign funding - Strongly Support

To begin with, public campaign financing would be great.

19. Patriot Act Harms civil liberties - Yes it does, which is a strong opinion of mine

Security from the state invariably matters more than security from terrorists.

20. US Troops out of Iraq & Afghanistan - Support

My only reluctance is for making sure the people stepping in are competent.
