Died of heat stroke/starvation/dehydration several months ago; her corpse was dug up and eaten by a dog yesterday.

I have no reason to believe that Jeff's version is not accurate in this instance. He has no motive here to dissemble. I mean, if the bulldog got in the yard, and offed JJ, stuff happens. It's not anyone's fault. There is no embarrassment attending such an admission. The bulldog owner is liable however for whatever vet bills are incurred vis a vis JJ (is he getting vet attention?) Dogs are supposed to be leashed when outside, and when not, that is negligence, and you are liable for whatever your unleashed dog does.

Not so with cats interestingly enough. There are no local ordinances about leashing cats, so whatever destruction your cat does to others, and their property, is not your problem.  Yet another reason why felines are just so superior to canines in every way that matters. Smiley

maybe it is accurate.  that is the trouble with accepting 'facts' from those who have a history of untruths.

they refused to let the dog in during the heat of the summer.  then somehow he gets inside in october and is attacked by a dog that has broken in.

seems a bit fishy.
