TBH it's good that she's not running; Cooper is doing very well in the polls and an uncontroversial Democratic primary will do nothing but help him in the GE.

Passionately anti-gay school board member in New Hanover is running for and will win Catlin's seat.

North Carolina for Bernie just went full idiot and made the following endorsements:

- Ken Spaulding for Governor
- Chris Rey for Senate
- Marcus Williams for AG
- No for the Bond Referendum

I'm embarrassed.

And my early ratings for each CoS race (Safe-Likely-Lean-Tilt):

Governor - Tilt D
Lieutenant Governor - Lean R
Secretary of State - Likely D
Attorney General - Lean D
Commissioner of Agriculture - Likely R
Commissioner of Insurance - Lean D
Commissioner of Labor - Likely R
Superintendent of Public Education - Likely D
State Treasurer - Lean D
State Auditor - Likely D

It's kind of fun when nothing is safe.

For the AG race, Stein is running circles around Newton. This is closer to Lean D than Tossup, IMO.

If Clinton carries NC, which is more likely than not, is it possible a dem sweep in NC?

For all ten statewide races? Doubt it.

Nah, just that Tuesday night was a terrible night for NC Democrats.

Yeah, those are like literally the only two good things that happened.

Clinton lost, Ross lost, Republicans still have veto-proof majorities in both chambers of the legislature, Democrats lost almost all of the legislative races considered 'close', the Democratic Insurance Commissioner was defeated, the Democratic Superintendent of Public Instruction was defeated, the Republicans won the Treasurer race, Republicans won all five of the Court of Appeals seats up for election, and Republicans won most of the high-profile local races in the Triangle and Triad.

Ah I see. Thanks! On a side note, it's quite amazing how split the NC electorate is. Almost all the statewide partisan races were decided by tiny margins, save for the Lt Gov race, which was still nothing substantial either.

Dan Forest only won the Lieutenant Governor race by such a large margin because of his campaign signs.

finally one nightmare over.

if the super-majorities of republicans fall in 2017, this state is finally competetive again.

FWIW, Buck Newton also conceded to Josh Stein for AG today.

The only statewide candidate yet to concede is Chuck Stuber, who trails Beth Wood for Auditor by 5,993 votes.

So the NC Dems had a full Democratic sweep of the statewide offices?

What? Republicans won 6/10.
