The hill country of the Deep South- stretching from northeast Mississippi to the Piedmont of South Carolina- is extremely conservative socially. There's a very large Southern Baptist population there, and they're one of the most conservative major denominations.

Here’s what Sarah Palin represents: being a fat fucking pig who pins “Country First” buttons on his man titties and chants “U-S-A! U-S-A!” at the top of his lungs while his kids live off credit cards and Saudis buy up all the mortgages in Kansas.

To bad it failed. They would have probably been one of the most enlightened counties in the US if it has passed.

Cobb County, Georgia would certainly qualify.

Greenville County is without a doubt the most socially conservative county in SC.  However, because of its large base of anti-government/anti-tax  proponents Lexington County is the most Republican County in SC.  I’m an independent voter in Lexinton County, but if I lived in Greenville County I’d have to consider myself either a Democrat or a Libertarian.  There is no way I could support the Greenville County GOP.

Let's quit talking about banning gay people.  This is America and anyone can live here.  : )

BTW, the most conservative area of MN is just west of the Twin cities, Carver Co. over 60% for Bush.  Also the precinct my brother lives in Scott county was 66% Bush.

MN isn't south but I didn't have an answer and didn't see a midwest category.  : )
