What do you think of my bill in the Senate to recognize Palestine?

What do you think of my bill in the Senate to recognize Palestine?

Mixed feelings, honestly. While I do support the Palestinians getting their own state, I also want the dumbasses to stop blowing up Israeli civilians. I'm not certain what the Palestinians would do with a state, anyway - certain sections of their society seem determined to continue on a suicidal path of 'kill all the Jews', etc., regardless of the presence of a state. On the other hand, some sections are ready for a deal. This makes it hard to come to a solution. Wink

Part 1 - Good
Part 2 - Bad (I've backed the wall as the only possible way to separate these two sides and stop them from killing each other. That said, the exact boundaries of the wall are not set in stone...)
Part 3 - Jake's got a point, but I'm in-between your position and his (how about, if the PA goes to war with the terrorists, even if they can't halt every single attack into Israel, they get recognized?)
Part 4 - Good if tied in to Part 3 Wink
Part 5 - Too early for that, although the Israeli tendency to share our tech with China is getting pretty damn annoying, but that's a separate issue from Palestine...

Fine, wait until I'm gone to ask questions...

In response to the Honorable Governor MAS117...

Liechtenstein's prince did a nasty trick to keep absolute power recently (yes, in theory, but still...), and this shouldn't be encouraged. See here and here for details. Or ask Lewis Trondheim. Tongue

Sealand...seriously, if you wish to drop sanctions against it, pass a bill in the Senate. Wink Or convince the President. Cheesy

Very well, Mr. Secretary, it's done  Wink

Well, fine then, be that way. Tongue

It is the proper procedure, although the Senate discussion ought to be amusing...

*bump*

If the President or the Senate wishes to exercise their new power over the FP Review, here it is. Wink

You know what I just realized, the FPR Act doesn't give priority to one of the powers. Which means the Senate, and President, with conflicting ideas (not unheard of) could switch the policy back and forth indefinitely. The President has an advantage because he or she doesn't need a vote, or debate, but still. This could get interesting.

Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. President, but: "Neither the Secretary of State nor the President shall have the authority to amend or reverse changes made by the Senate."

Ah, the irony. The biggest event that could potentially involve my department happens at home, not abroad. Wink

I hope my successor enjoys the job - no, I'm not resigning yet, but I will leave when President Siege does. I've got too much damn IRL work to do. Tongue

Thank you very much for asking me to be the Secretary of State, President Siege. Kiki

You are also a gentlemen and a scholar even if you're a NDP member. Tongue

True Independent is welcome to it - on foreign policy we're pretty much in agreement, so BWAHAHAHAHA! More neoconservatism! Grin

I'm going to enjoy a break from Fantasy Government, myself. Kiki

This might be a stupid question, but is there an updated list of all the nations anywhere?

There was a lot of stuff to undergo review by the Senate or the President, although whether or not they did so is another question.

Of course, it doesn't appear the Senate ever put the Foreign Policy Review to a vote so there's no collection on the Forum itself.
