He has to work with a literally insane group of people in the House of Representatives and considering that, he's not done worse than anyone else would have.

Things like the spying in Europe make it more difficult to approve of him....but the truth is that nothing and nobody would stop the US from acting the way it does. Who happens to be President is almost irrelevant in that regard.

the apologia in the beginning does work to an extent with things that do require some Congressional cooperation, health care, for instance.  not at all in the second an in all situations that are heavily dependent on executive decisions: drones, spying, drug law enforcement, deportation, executions, the list goes on and on, whereby Obama by no means has to act as he does and yet does anyway.  in order words where the (D) hacks run out of string to play with.
