Nope; too conservative for most NJ voters.
Actually, looking at Maxy's PM scores; he's not all that different from Goldwater, who I said was moderate enough to have a shot at winning New Jersey. He's also more socially liberal than Goldwater, which (unfortunately) would actually make him MORE likely than Goldwater to win this state; not less.
So, I'll say this: Both Maxy and Goldwater would lose my state under most circumstances, but would command a higher percentage of the vote than most GOP candidates usually do and would have a shot at winning outright against a weak or socially conservative Democratic candidate (the latter of which will probably never exist).
