I hate to say it, but I'm calling it for Jolly. Sad

206 of 225 precincts are reporting with Jolly leading 48-46 by nearly 3,000 votes. This sucks. Sink gets unfairly screwed over again by another awful Republican candidate. Florida just destroyed any faith Democrats had going into these 2014 House elections.

Gerrymandering works, what a freaking surprise.
Yes, it may have been a small factor, but you lost because you nominated a horrible nominee.  You threw one away.  Should have had Rick Kriseman run instead of mayor.  You would have a house seat then.

Jolly is up by a little more than 2K, and with>90% of precincts reporting, I think this is over

No, you won because the legislature cut out black voters and used water continuity to pack them. You really think Jolly would have won if the whole of St. Pete was in the district?

Sink has to make up 3,150 votes over 7 precincts.

'Pretty much done.

Absolutely disgusting. The Florida Democrats need to be razed from the ground up.

Yes, fine, let's run a lazy, failed candidate AGAIN for an ultra-valuable House seat. Let's see how well that does! After all, she's the one who's leading in the polls!

The only thing going for us in the state is Patrick Murphy and MAYBE Gwen Graham (if Bobby can help). The rest of the FL Democrats don't deserve to be near anything to do with politics ever again.

Guys, Jolly will be heavily challenged again in November, this is only one seat, there are plenty of other chances.

I that why the precinct map has this broad strech reaching to the shore in N. St. Pete's not voting in this election, but separating two areas that do?

You can't blame Sink, this district is a rigged gerrymander, blame the Republican legislature for breaking the rules of the redistricting amendment.

I know it was a factor, but not the main one.  You still, even with the gerrymander should have won the seat.  Jolly is a bad candidate, but Sink is worse.

She knew the shape of the district going in. Instead of wasting money on ads, maybe she could have turned out the vote... #useless

Nope, gerrymandering one the seat for Republicans. There is no way any Democrat was going to win this seat in a special elections. Republicans knew what they were doing when they drew this district.

This is exactly what I've been thinking.

Even if it was an off-year election...even if the district was a bit gerrymandered...you were still ahead in the polls when this started.

Sorry, Florida dems, you guys really f[Ernest]ed up this time.

Narrowly, but down ballot, it's not more Republican.

AOS calls it for Jolly. The remaining precincts are all Romney ones.
