Probably, it's been several weeks since the last mass shooting.

So this 'twitter' is just some kind of rumors?  That's pretty useless, eh?  Why can't you just wait or the news story?  (I suppose if you were on your way to LAX it might help).

There's no evidence this is a mass shooting at this point.

Found a live feed of a news source, is that good enough? Tongue

This is apparently over already - the gunman has been shot and arrested according to CBS.

Glad I'm not flying today. The ripple effect on air traffic control is going to be catastrophic.

I'd guess complete gridlock throughout much of the country.

It appears the gunman is an off duty TSA officer.

Shooter was a off-duty TSA agent, now dead. One TSA agent was killed, around 3-4 were injured (All officers).

I have a different take on this, but it's too soon.

Let's just say my opinion of the TSA workers isn't very high, from personal experience and anecdotal evidence.

Holy god, the dude they just had on MSNBC was terrifying. He was angrily demanding Israeli-level security.

Right, because all mass shooting in this country came at the hands of TSA workers.

I never said that, but it's a workplace and workforce that has problems at its core.

It's a low income group composed disproportionately of people of color whose jobs make them highly visible in a service role.

In my experience, that alone explains the dislike of them as a class, although I can't see why.

Personally I've never had any negative experience with a TSA officer nor seen anyone else have one. However, given the meniality of the position, the pitiful salary they earn and the high turnover I'd give them more leeway than I would most people in terms of performance.

I'm probably biased.  Flying with certain diabilities is a bitch post 9/11, trust me, and my tolerance for idiots who don't know how to deal with that is very low.  So I guess my whole position is biased come to think of it.

Guys, remember that there were those ice bombs that were set off by a TSA employee at LAX just a couple of weeks ago (right around the time I was flying through there). I don't know if this is related to it. I hope it is, otherwise the TSA employees at LAX are a scary bunch. Although I have had a pretty good experience and last time I flew through there (the day after the 2nd ice bomb went off), one of the guys was entertaining us as well as educating us on what to do like taking off shoes, jackets etc.

Just for the record, the shooter was not a TSA employee, just a nutjob (and probable NRA member) who railed against "fiat currency" and the "NWO" and of course saw the TSA as perfect embodiment of that.
