I'm praying Crist will win, but he's going to explain himself to Floridians how he went from GOPer, then Independent and switching to Dem.

Scott is going to remind voters that in those TV ads if he hasn't already.

Most likely, he going to use the "republican party is too extreme for me" kind of thing.

Means Crist could be leading by double digits I'm starting to believe that St. Leo University poll... I don't see Scott going down easy though he will carpet bomb the state with ads this race will go very negative soon.

I'm getting attack ads on Crist before YouTube videos now - paid for by Scott's 527.

I just saw one a second ago. I was impressed with the ad and did not skip it like I almost always do Tongue.

The kind who believes that the campaign will be worse for Crist than Scott. Scott has a decent record to run on and Crist somehow has more skeletons in the closet than he does. Combine that with a cash advantage and you have an acceptable excuse to releasing a poll showing your candidate down but still in the race.

Scott is doing what Obama did to Romney in 2012. When  you're not well-liked and unpopular, you want to define your opponent before he or she gets the chance to define themselves to the public.

Scott doing these negative TV ads months early before the 2014 midterms is NOT surprising to me.

Obama's ratings were way higher than Scott's are, and he still only won Florida by 1 point.

Any thoughts on how much the state supreme court retirements will impact this race?

I am no big fan of Crist, but if Scott wins re-election, he'll appoint hard line conservatives who will turn back the clock on womens rights, unions, and that is not something we can afford at this time.

It won't. The only people concerned about future state supreme court appointments are hardline partisans anyway.

Hopefully Democrats have the good sense to reject the man who was right-wing Republican two years ago.

I am no big fan of Crist, but if Scott wins re-election, he'll appoint hard line conservatives who will turn back the clock on womens rights, unions, and that is not something we can afford at this time.

This is the sort of mentality that establishment Democrats have used to neuter the left for decades. Don't fall for it.

Crist actually wasn't that bad for a Republican. Look how bad Kasich, Walker, Corbett, etc. are. Crist could've ended up being much, much worse than he actually was.

This, meanwhile, is the sort of mentality that leads Democrats to nominate candidates like Nan Rich. If Democrats nominate Nan Rich, they will lose. It's really a simple choice here: the moderate, experienced Governor, or the far-right one. Voting to nominate a candidate who hasn't led in a poll since 2012 is essentially a vote for Scott.

Left-wingers don't like it, they can stay home because Crist will be the Democratic nominee and next Florida Governor

I can't see it making that much of an impact. It'll probably drag down Crist's margins, but I don't truly see it making Scott the lesser of two evils.

Unless of course it made Rich somehow get through the primary, which seems unlikely.
