I'm obviously in support of this, but I expect if it does pass and gets ratified, there will be court challenges...Tongue

Women should have the right to choose until birth.

That's simply not the case.  After a certain point we cannot argue that we are not dealing with a living thing that has rights of its own.

Indisputably.

Yeah, that point is obviously birth.

No, it certainly is not.  By the time of viability we are absolutely dealing with a living thing.  Viability should be the latest possible point in which an abortion is legal, barring extraordinary circumstances.

No, we really aren't.

Yes, we are.  If it can survive on its own outside the womb, it is a person.  Obviously we're not going to agree, but the amendment as it stands is murder.

It says "Women's Rights Amendment" and yet I only see one right - abortion - being discussed.  Is the implication that women don't have any others?

This should be called the Women's Reproductive Rights Amendment. Often times we tend to shoehorn women into one or two categories like abortion and birth control - a practice I really, really hate.
