Clinton. I remember Hillary more than I did Bill, however.

Bush. During his second election, I really wanted him to win, just because my Dad and my classmates liked him.
I was quite happy in the morning after the election. Smiley

Yeah, Bush II. I was alive for Clinton's entire term, but a Canadian eight-year-old doesn't generally hear much about the president. I suspect it would be different if I went to school in the US, as I definitely remember knowing about Jean Chrétien before January 2001, but American politics never factored into my life much.

That being said, I do remember playing around at recess shortly after Election Day 2000 and hearing how close the results were. I didn't appreciate the significance at the time, but the words "Bush" and "Gore" seem awfully familiar. I remember thinking it was hilarious that a president was named after a bush.

Bush 41. I can still remember as well going in 1992 to watch my mom and dad vote as a very interested 4 year old.

I think it was the Gulf War that first really made a not-quite-eight-years-old me aware that he was my President.  Until then I was oblivious of him.

Even though I was 5, and really had no comprehension  of what was going on,  I definitely remember the Nixon  resignation.  I liked Ford.  He fell down a lot and looked like a muppet.

GHWB because when I was little, my parents wanted to make sure I understood basic current events and would ask me questions about who major public figures were and I was expected to know the answer. And one of the questions they'd ask was who the president was and at the time it was Bush 41. Also because Barbara Bush once hosted some event at the country club my family belonged to and because a lot of our neighbors went to the Republican National Convention when it was held in Houston in 1992.

Man, the Bush(ie) name is so toxic. Not because of Dubya, but because of a certain honorary Kenynan.
