Guys. If posts are disappearing you need to provide us with proof that they are. Because if dozens are going missing each day then it's an issue for Dave Leip.

To be fair, how can that be proven if the posts are gone?  That's not to say there isn't a false flag operation going on, of course.

If it is a major problem on this one board and the moderators of the board have confirmed that posts haven't been deleted without being reported first (which show on the moderated posts page) then it means there must be an issue in the system. It's Leip's baby so he will need to know about it.

That doesn't make any sense.   What difference could it possibly make if the forum has 'faith in the mods'?  That wouldn't change the situation at all.

IIRC there are certain threads on boards that have a defined time limit on their life set by Dave Leip. The limit is needed to reduce memory and improve speed. If you see a post count drop, but don't recognize any specific posts that are missing, it may be that they are in old threads that were deleted because of age.

Well Ernest was pruning some of his boards, so if people just saw their post count drop, that could be why.  If people thought threads/posts went missing from this board, then it wasn't Ernest.

Yesterday, I concluded that I must been mistaken. Maybe my unreliable mobile ISP had given out at a critical moment, and the post had never been received.. Posts don't just mysteriously vanish, right. Today I learned many posts have vanished...

You wouldn't have to screenshot every post you make to keep a record, just keep a tally of how many you make per day. This is pretty easy with the way your profile tracks recent posts, for example I know I have made 10 posts today so far (well now 11.) Not a bad idea since arbitrary post deletion is most certainly not something Inks is above.

Sam was de-modded, and now hasn't been heard from in over a year.  Dave and/or Nym could ban whoever they like.  No one is truly safe.
