Who wants to bet that Iowa gets higher approvals than Indiana because it voted for Obama?

Dude, it's an election forum.  Why would Iowa get low approval numbers? Tongue

Considering it's not a state, I'd assume so.

Iowa is a more interesting state.

In what ways? Iowa is about as bland as you can get.

It wouldn't, all I'm saying is it wouldn't get lower approvals than Indiana. My point is that many people here will vote mostly based off the election results of a state.

Freedom State and Ohio's only neighbor we don't have anything against.

Doesn't seem to have any redeeming features.

Uh, Dude Fest.

It's a completely HS otherwise, but I can't vote HS for the state where I spent the best two weekends of my life. So FS.

Culturally its a lot more like Wisconsin than either Illinois or Indiana. Also I have family and friends that live there.

Iowa has lots of great bands. (No, not including Slipknot.)

Also Indiana is not a rural state. It has a higher population density than the national average.

Actually, I changed my mind. I originally voted HS in the poll, but I switched my vote to FS, although if there was a neutral option I would probably vote for that.

Bloomington's Poli-Sci Department is the only redeemable aspect of the state.

HS. The originality of their capital's name is worse than Oklahoma's plus they have a terrible Governor.

We called Idaho an FS, for Christ's sake. We surely aren't doing this by politics.

Doesn't really conjure up any images in my mind. A flyover state with no major cities or significant geography. It's a cousin to the Iowa-Idaho-Ohio triumvirate of states no one really thinks or cares about all that much.

You have to admit though that it's somewhat important that this series is being conducted on this particular board, rather than on geography or off-topic. Not saying it was deliberately done, of course, but I certainly don't blame people for thinking that voting patterns are the considerable variable here.

Freedom State, however, Iowa is better.
