The people in this state(who were stupid enough to fall for this con artist) deserve everything they get imo.

But then again the alternative wasn't exactly attractive ether(still better then McAfflule-although I wanted Bolling).

Well at least hundreds of thousands of people will have health insurance and women won't become second class citizens. Frankly that's a lot more important than giving some jobs to friends.

I don't take DNC talking points as evidence that Terry's going to be a competent governor.

Are you referring to the Medicaid Expansion? I do not see it happening, particularly with the insane margin the GOP has in the House.

Maybe McAuliffe should follow Jan Brewer's method: veto everything that comes out of the legislature until Medicaid is expanded.

And to think this guy is now the governor of Virginia. It's actually kind of hard to believe.

Exaggeration much?

Alarmism now in lieu of childish memes? I guess its a step in the right direction

As opposed to Cuccinelli who would be appointing his "secretary of banning contraception" and "manager of state sponsored straight camps". It's not like any Democrats harbored any illusions of McAuliffe not being a corrupt a'hole.

Levar Stoney served as McAuliffe's Deputy Campaign Manager during his 2013 gubernatorial campaign. Prior to that, Stoney served as the Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia from 2006-2009, and as the Political Director of gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds' 2009 campaign. Stoney is a graduate of James Madison University.

So, Levon may be a hack (or may not), but he's a lifelong Va Dem hack.

I would have voted for Sarvis if I lived in Virginia, he would be great for the state as a moderate who would employ the best people for the job, while fighting for equal rights.

I would still much rather have McAuliffe over Cuccinelli any day.

He's hinted he may do this. Don't have to worry about reelection.

To all the Republicans complaining in this thread... maybe if your party actually connected with voters outside of Mississippi and Alabama you could win statewide elections against con men.  Why not just solve the problem at its source?

I know you have already come up with a million reasons why the election was unfair or stacked in favor of the democrats, or you've just completely ignored the election since October (see, e.g., barfbag)... but the fact of the matter is that Virginia is not New York or California, so the fact that you are now routinely losing it, in this case to someone you call a "con man" then that should tell you something about where your party is going.

In what scenario would the alternative be the case? Did the federal judiciary just magically abandon more than 40 years of case law? All of a sudden governors can unilaterally assume powers they never had in the first place?

This obviously means that the election results should be nullified and Cuccinelli be allowed to take his rightful place as Governor, which he was robbed of by voters.

Yeah, Cuccinelli has clean hands, he donated his "gifts" to charity, remember?
