4 days. There seems to be a sizable libertarian faction here, and a few Democrats who don't like Matheson.

Chaffetz clearly. Matheson is terrible. I'd rather have a normal Democrat than a blue dog.

Matheson, but I'd rather see him run for Governor than senate.

He'd basically be a statewide version of himself in the Senate. If he were governor, he'd at least have the veto pen and be able to present his own ideas.

Ugh, Chaffetz.  He at least is concerned about America turning into a police state, unlike his horrible Blue Dog opponent.

Ugh, Matheson. Chaffetz would be a better alternative than a typical Utah Republican (for the reason Mecha stated) but I couldn't bring myself to vote for him.

I had to take a shower after choosing Chaffetz.  I felt that dirty.

Again, this is why a Governor Matheson would be much better than a Senator Matheson. Gov Matheson would not have anything to do with civil liberties.

Yes, of course.

Governorships are way more economical in matter, which Chaffetz would be much more horrible at.
It's a matter of perspective.  A man you would support for Governor is not the same man you would support for Senator.

Indeed. And Matheson as a gubernatorial candidate would help downballot Democrats on purpose, in order to make his job as governor easier. A Senator Matheson would have no reason to help downballot Dems, and would only do it by accident.

Plus, if Senator Matheson does anything liberal, he's going to be a one-term Senator. If Governor Matheson does something liberal, he can "salvage" that among the right-wingers by being an effective executive.

No way; if Matheson doesn't lose in 2014, he doesn't lose for the next decade, at least. For one thing, Mia Love is one of the best funded and (at this point) strongest opponents possible for his district, and literally no other Utah GOP politician besides Jon Huntsman would come close to beating Matheson. If she loses again, I don't think she'll try again. The UT GOP will have to settle for a lackluster nominee. Also, Matheson will have represented the 4th district for 6 years by 2018, if he doesn't go for Governor or Senate.

Matheson, but solely for the balance of power for Democrats in the Senate because besides that, he's only a DINO.
