Option 2, because that's a mental image I did not want to have.

Bashir apologized while Palin is still comparing debt to slavery. Option 1 easily.

Accidentally voted option 2, thinking the question was which I agreed with. Obviously nothing Bashir said is at all "reprehensible." Palin's comments is just one more in a long history of attempts by the right to diminish the horrors of black chattel slavery.

Thread title shouldn't depart from the question that much - it's deceptive.

Same. Very poorly-designed thread/poll.

Bashir's comments are at worst immature while Palin's are both incredibly offensive and representative of a view that has led to near economic disaster for the country due to the Tea Party's obsession with the debts and deficits.

Why do you have a topic title whose answer is inherently the opposite of the answer to the poll question?

Okay, fine, the wording could have been different. Excuse me for optimistically assuming that no one on this forum would actually agree with either statement and would see it was a question of who was more in the wrong.

Making a poll with a misleading title is - and I'm not trying to be racist or anything - kind of like slavery. Just don't take a dump in my mouth.

I side with Bashir, because he wasn't the one fear-mongering and misleading people. Also because of the creative way he insulted her.

Sarah Palin obviously. Palin is incredibly dumbfounded and doesn't know how government works, nor does she make reasonable arguments. But Bashir's comments are just disgusting and incredibly rude. This is when talk show hosts go way to far. At least he was forced to apologize....

Honestly, Bashir would've been fine if he had refrained from saying that someone should take a dump in Palin's mouth. His point was legitimate; that Sarah Palin has no idea what slavery really is. He didn't need to add the creepy insult.
