Probably Spanish or French.  Maybe French, because it is not only a Romance language, but the "romance language." Smiley

Not to mention that it also had the most influence on Michigan and the English language.

Spanish (cultural background), followed closely by French, which I'd vote for if I weren't Cuban.

I'd say that Catalan counts as a major Romance language; it's more than distinct enough from Spanish and is the official language of one country (Andorra), and possibly a second if Catalonia votes for independence next year.
